Comprehension Voice Signs Item: 130
Comprehension Voice Signs
Introduce your students to the three reader “voices” in their heads:
- The Reading Voice (green) reads the words on the page.
- The Thinking Voice (yellow) comprehends the words.
- The Distracting Voice (red) should be avoided as it’s when the reader is thinking about something other than the text.
After explaining the voices in a reader’s head, reference them frequently in future lessons by holding up these extra-large signs printed on card stock and attached to long wooden sticks.
TIP: Laminate the cards before adhering them to the wooden sticks to add more durability and rigidity to the signs.
Set includes one of each sign and three long wooden sticks.
