Writing Parent Pack: Writing Process
by Kristina Smekens
NOTE: This is an individually sold section of the Writing Parent Pack. It is included if you purchase the entire The Writing Parent Pack.
The Writing Parent Pack: Writing Process is designed to engage parents in discussions and activities about the writing process that are tied directly to their child’s classroom writing standards. Any type of at-home learning can be beneficial, but when it is directly tied to standards currently being addressed in the classroom, everybody wins.
All the activities in this section of The Writing Parent Pack deal specifically with writing to an audience (voice) and the writing process. Teachers choose from differentiated activities based on writing standards and student need to provide take-home activities to reinforce previously taught skills.
When the child brings the Writing Parent Pack page back, the teacher can maintain the completed activity in the child’s file, assessing whether or not the child needs additional practice.
